With literally billions of people now living under ‘stay at home’ or ‘shelter in place’ orders around the world, the mobility industry (among many others) is taking a big hit. However many are using this time of uncertainty to do some good:
Bird, Spin, Jump & Tier are offering free cycle/scooter hire to health workers in some markets
Uber are offering free rides to NHS workers in the UK
hiyacar offering free car hire to NHS workers in London & Brighton
Bolt & Lyft are supporting community food and medicine deliveries
Zoom has increased it’s daily active users from ~10 million in December, to over 200 million in March. It’s now valued more than the top three US airlines combined, who have suffered considerably as air travel, and travel in general, has fallen. Zoom is even being used in the UK government, despite numerous security and privacy concerns being raised.
